Public Screaming

In the organizer's words:

This year's general election seems less like a day of celebration when we all use our democratic vote to help shape the politics of our country. Instead, many of us are expecting February 23 to be a day of anger and fear. We don't want to leave anyone sitting alone on the sofa at home! We invite you to hot debates, cool drinks and live election projections on the big screen.

Everyone who voted for a democratically-minded party in this election - or would have done so if they were eligible to vote - is very welcome. Come laugh, scream, marvel, make plans for the future.

"Public Screaming is part of heimaten and is an initiative of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW), Berlin, for the Bundestag elections.

The heimaten project aims to reinterpret the concept of home in terms of the real plural composition of German society and is launching a four-year, Germany-wide program. The project is conceived by Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) and the co-curators Ibou Diop and Max Czollek and is supported by HKW together with a network of civil society initiatives and cultural institutions in the sixteen German federal states as well as in Austria and Switzerland
