PURPLE STORM | A Tribute to Deep Purple

Looking back at the heyday of rock music, the origins of all of today's guitar-based hard rock music can be found in the 1970s. The foundations of the music that is now known as classic rock were laid by the pioneers of hard rock at the time.

Deep Purple is certainly one of the outstanding formations of this period. Generally regarded as the inventors of hard rock, their songs are still timeless today. From the rather poppy sounds of the late 60s to hard-hitting riffs, dominated by the outstanding soloists Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, Jon Lord on organ and Ian Paice on drums. Deep Purple's various line-ups have always produced great works over several phases of development, which still captivate a large following.

PURPLE STORM is committed to this legacy.

This tribute project includes five great and experienced musicians whose musical roots lie in the decades-long work of their role models.

The great and best-known songs of Deep Purple are performed with absolute authenticity, with the shredding organ and Strat guitar sound taking center stage as in the original.

The role of Ritchie Blackmore is played by Norbert Schymik, whose guitar playing is absolutely thrilling. He masters even the most complicated parts with ease and, not least, gives the songs their character.

This happens in the interplay with Burk Urdenbach, who, like Jon Lord in the original, knows how to authentically convince in solo and rhythm playing with distorted to gothic sacred Hammond sounds.

The focus is also on the voice of Uli Rohmann, who knows how to handle the most complicated parts of both great lead singers, Ian Gillan and David Coverdale, equally well.

The rhythm section is handled in clockwork fashion by Thorsten Busan on drums and Michael Hakenberg on bass. Together, like their idols Ian Paice and Roger Glover, they form an unshakeable foundation that holds the band together and ensures exact and incredibly precise interplay.

In this context, PURPLE STORM delivers a unique and unforgettable live concert experience for all fans of classic rock and hard rock, and of course especially for Deep Purple fans, which brings the early days of rock music back to life and whose groove lingers with the audience for a long time to come.
