In this romantic drama by Italian director Luca Guadagnino, Daniel Craig plays American emigrant William Lee, who enters into a romance with a younger man (Drew Starkey) in Mexico City in the 1950s. Together, the two set off for South America in search of the yage plant growing in the jungles of Ecuador.

1950: William Lee, an American expat in Mexico City, spends most of his days alone, with little contact with the small American community. It is only when he meets Eugene Allerton, a former soldier, that he gains hope of building an intimate relationship.
