I can be so much more than this world allows me to be.
What was it like for you? In the past, I mean. When you found out who you were.
Politics scared me. Politics scared me. Politics scares me.
I wonder if anything has ever really changed. That's what I ask myself - somewhere between fury and quiet despair. I'm angry because I want to be free. Unique, but not different.
This piece is supposed to be about us. But also about those before us and those after us.
You can expect a warm, dark light with a hint of purple and a soft hum.

And at the end, it's far from over.

QUEER CLUB
The theater club for queer* young people and their allies! [15-27]
The QUEER CLUB meets once a week to perform theater together in a relaxed atmosphere, discuss topics and exchange ideas. This season, we have dealt with the feeling of anger and queerness in the past and present.

*What does "queer" mean?
Once upon a time, the word "queer" was used as an insult for people who were not heterosexual and/or did not fit into the two-gender norms (weird, strange). The term has since been appropriated and has become a positive self-designation. It criticizes heteronormativity.

ABOUT THE CLUBFUSION
ClubFusion, the joint festival of the theater clubs of Schauspiel Leipzig, Oper Leipzig and TDJW, is entering its fifth round from 15 to 25 May 2025. This year, you can expect a festival line-up of 13 clubs in 30 events with around 200 performers.
The young festival format ClubFusion focuses on the themes of the people who meet in the various clubs and develop productions under professional guidance. The methodological and aesthetic diversity of the working methods within the theater clubs is reflected in the creative presentations of the participants. The festival aims to sustainably strengthen Leipzig's theater scene, create opportunities for participation in culture and art and provide open and diverse meeting spaces for people of all ages.
