The exhibition shows portraits of queer refugees from Uganda, Tanzania and Nigeria - people who are fighting for their lives, their love and their right to stay. In texts, they talk about flight, fear, exclusion and the daily challenge of being allowed to exist at all in the asylum process - but also about self-assertion, hope and beauty.

An exhibition about survival in the German asylum system. Photographs by Steffi Eckelmann.

The project was originally created as a co-production of the LeTRa Lesbian Counseling Service and the Habibi Kiosk at the Münchner Kammerspiele, with the kind support of the Munich Rainbow Foundation.
