Back to the 20s!
On July 18, 2025 at 7 pm, Heimathafen Neukölln will be transformed into a dazzling stage on which history, music and queer culture will merge into a rousing spectacle.
To kick off Pride Week, this year's revue is all about queer Berlin in the 1920s - that exciting time when the city of Berlin became the vibrant capital of freedom and creativity. Let us take you back to an era in which queer personalities became visible and shaped cultural life.
From chansons, songs and musical highlights of the time to lively anecdotes and historical insights, "Queer is Beautiful" is a tribute to the diversity, attitude to life and non-conformity of the 1920s. It features the queer songs of the time: handmade music performed with heart and passion by our artists.
Behind this unique evening are David Kaiser and Virginia Plain, who put on "Queer is Beautiful" with a lot of dedication and creativity. We are particularly pleased that Klaus Lederer and Katharine Mehrling are once again taking on the patronage this year - this is the third time they have supported our unique project with their enthusiasm for queer culture and art.
Look forward to an evening full of surprises, great voices, charming stories and an atmosphere that celebrates Berlin's dazzling history.
"Queer is Beautiful " is more than just a revue: it is a celebration of diversity and a glimpse into the queer soul of this fascinating city.
"Come as you are, live as you want - the 1920s areback!"

Our good cause: Strengthening diversity in schools - with the diversity school coaches
With its "Diversity School Coaches" project, the Evangelische Schulstiftung in der EKBO is actively committed to a school in which diversity is lived and respected. Since 2024, they have been qualifying committed teachers from Berlin schools in a well-founded training program that turns them into diversity school coaches. The participants deal with topics such as sexual and gender diversity, love, identity and body experience - always with the aim of offering young people an open, discrimination-sensitive and supportive learning environment.
This project is a matter close to our hearts - and our good cause.
We are collecting donations to further expand this important educational work, reach more educators and shape an equal opportunities and diverse school landscape in the long term.
