QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2025 (www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events during the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

EVENT

Immerse yourself in the world of queer history research! As part of QueerHistoryMonth, the Bücherhallen Hamburg and Stadtqueergang invite you to discover our joint book table in the Central Library. Here you will find a diverse selection of specialist and secondary literature on queer historical research - local, national and international.

Specialist literature provides academic findings and original research, while secondary literature analyzes and prepares existing works. From original Hamburg sources to current discussions about a queer perspective on Holocaust research, the book table offers exciting insights into queer life, struggles and the visibility of the queer community. Take this opportunity to discover the extensive collection of the Bücherhallen Hamburg - queer research and specialist literature have a permanent place here!

All visitors are welcome to browse through the books on display, read over coffee and cake in the in-house café or borrow the works. Read, discover, borrow - queer history is waiting to be read by you.

The book table From Hirschfeld to today can be found in the Central Library at Hühnerposten from May 1 to 15 during regular opening hours. Come by - we look forward to your visit!
