QUIET LIFE is a deeply moving and gripping film about a real-life apathy syndrome that can afflict children on the run in hopeless situations.

Sergei (Grigory Dobrygin) and Natalia (Chulpan Khamatova) have fled from Russia to Sweden with their two daughters Katja (Miroslava Pashutina) and Alina (Naomi Lamp) because of political persecution - in the hope of a new life after an attack almost cost Sergei his life. However, the family's application for asylum is rejected and they are deported. Katja, the younger of the two daughters, traumatized by the rejection, collapses and falls into a coma; a condition known as resignation syndrome or apathy. Her parents try everything to create an atmosphere of security, stability and hope that their daughter needs to wake up again.
