Gabriele Born, photo artist, is always good for surprises. She is the kind of person who hasn't imitated anything for 25 years, but instead constantly reinterprets photographic art.
Born's photographs are far more than mere snapshots. They are the starting point of a creative process in which reality and abstraction merge. Her work begins with technically flawless photographs that she takes with a keen sense of composition, light and perspective. But instead of leaving these images in their original form, her work really gets going.
She uses digital and manual techniques to alter them in a targeted manner. Through color manipulation, distortion and superimposition, she creates works of art that detach themselves from reality and develop a completely new message. This transformation is no coincidence but a deliberate act of experimentation that directs the eye to the new and uncovers hidden emotions.
The results are colorful, often almost painterly works of art that have the artist's temperament in them and simply put you in a good mood.
Look forward to a firework of colors, perfection and illusion, presented on canvas, Aludibond and acrylic.
