In the late 90s, Radian set out to use instruments and methods of experimental electronics to further develop rock music in an abstract form and to organically combine acoustic and electronic music in a unique way. The result is a music between eruption and concentration, between explosion and implosion, with hard breaks and a wide dynamic range, as well as the courage to create prominently placed moments of silence. As pioneers for a whole series of younger bands, they paved the way for the future - in the years that followed, more and more musicians began to work on precisely this synthesis and to orient themselves towards electronic aesthetics with the help of a band line-up. In the early 2000s, they began a long-term collaboration with the Chicago label Thrill Jockey, which enabled them to work with John McEntire (Tortoise) and distribute their albums internationally, which were extensively reviewed by the New York Times and The Wire, among others. Their concerts and worldwide tours have earned Radian a reputation as an excellent live band ("Radian is an incredibly well oiled machine", "This trio's showcase is intense" - Mutek Festival, Montréal; "Radian went down a storm" - The Wire). Their latest album "Distorted Rooms" was released in 2023.
