Now we have it behind us: Holy Week,
the last merciless stage of Lent.
But emaciated as they are, doubts are creeping into the hopes of Fritz & Hermann, the board of the Rhenania local history association:
Was the brutal fast worth it? Will they be redeemed at Easter, even though they had a binge on Good Friday and couldn't resist? And what the hell is actually inside that egg? Will it really bring us peace? A new beginning and resurrection after death by torture and crucifixion?
And who put it in our nest? An overly sex-oriented rabbit named Hare? Was it him who inspired our church staff to indulge in wild fantasies?
Or is it perhaps a cuckoo's egg?
But then who the heck was the cuckoo?
As always, Fritz & Hermann gratefully take this opportunity to finally take stock again. They follow a thousand wishes, regardless of the dangers they may expose themselves to in times of disease, war and climate crises - you never know what's in the eggs! - and they crack them all, even the rotten ones! And accompany us with songs, ideas and prejudices. Popular, bad, old and new and of course, as always, with answers to questions that nobody has asked.
"With Fritz & Hermann, some things really hurt, and some of the "punchlines" will leave the squeamish feeling a little sore. But that's exactly how cabaret works - if it hasn't yet coagulated into comedy, but is uncomfortable, great cabaret whose expiration date doesn't end at the theater exit."
