The Stuttgart rapper and singer-songwriter Maeckes, alias Markus Winter, has already transformed the opera house into a party opera several times with his concerts. Now he is providing the lyrics for a fairy tale in which he will also be on stage himself: Orca Gladis is turned into a human by Lone for 24 hours, but promises one of her fins as a reward. She meets Abad and Ge, gets caught in the middle and asks herself: does an end justify the means? What remains when every truth is twisted? "The Red Whale" is an opera that is also rap. Or: a fairy tale about the RAF - not to trivialize, but to deal with a Stuttgart subject that is charged like a myth.
