LTJ Bukem: A true pioneer of drum'n'bass from the very beginning.
Danny Williamson alias LTJ Bukem belongs to drum'n'bass like the air we breathe. Bukem's sound is characterized by complex rhythms, deep basslines and, above all, his unique fusion of jazz and soul influences. His sets are timeless and combine the decades of drum'n'bass to create a danceable experience for everyone, whether you are a connoisseur or a newcomer to the scene.
LTJ Bukem's success story began at the Raindance Festival in 1990 in front of 10,000 people. Back then, he needed the support of all his friends to venture onto the stage and play his set. This is how unforgettable nights are made. Unforgettable for Danny Williamson alias LTJ Bukem and certainly also for the crowd, who were able to experience how an artist plays himself into the rank of a world-class DJ. Shortly afterwards, the 12" called "Logical Progression" was released on the newly founded Vinyl Mania label. In a small office in Harlesden, London, a label was christened Good Looking just a short time later and "Demon's Theme" was released, a soulful combination of raucous beats and smooth vibes with an exuberant, lush atmosphere. Further milestones such as "Music" (1993) and the epic "Horizons" (1994) followed.
All series from "Logical Progression" and "Progression Sessions" to the "Earth" albums are known for Bukem's striving to produce new, exciting and trend-setting music without losing sight of his roots and the influences that inspired him in the beginning. After numerous remixes and his own contributions to label compilations, Bukem continued his work on the genre at the beginning of the 21st century with "Journey Inwards". It is no exaggeration to say that Bukem has contributed significant chapters to the book of breakbeat culture.
