Red Brut and DE MOND with Floris Vanhoof

Red Brut (Marijn Verbiesen) is known for their eerie mélange of domestic folk horror and musique concrète - tape improvisations based on sounds from four cassette decks that like to take a fork towards the heart of darkness. Marijn's work with tapes emphasizes the ambiguous qualities of her sounds with the warm distortion and background noise typical of the medium. The music drifts into small universes that contain many layers of beauty, discomfort and intimacy.

Red Brut will present their new album bare ground in the 674FM concert space, which will be released in Germany in November on the Econore label.

DE MOND is the brainchild of Stijn Wybouw and Arno De Bock, two musicians from Brussels. Together they create an electrifying mix of dirty vocals, tape loops, hypnotic synthesizer sounds and deep drum beats. Their first EP "Glow" was released in spring '24 on Futura Resistenza. They collaborate with musician/visual artist Floris Vanhoof, who joins the live sets as the third member, creating live collages (with Fresnel lenses, shadow plays, kaleidoscopic light collage, 16mm film projections, reflective materials) on two large manipulated strobes.
