June 14 to 15, 2025 reFLEX stage, Hölderlin Eins courtyard, pay-what-you-can

With Flex Ensemble, Markus Becker and students of the IFF of the HMTMH.

The Flex Ensemble and Hölderlin Eins invite you to an unforgettable weekend full of music in the open air: rousing dances for piano quartet from Brahms to Piazzolla, Stravinsky's spectacular "Sacre du Printemps" for piano four hands and fascinating jazz improvisations with pianist and guest of honor Markus Becker.
Dancing and picnicking will be possible in front of the specially developed reFLEX open-air stage. The crowning finale will be music by Mendelssohn, Cage and Mozart, which Flex will perform together with the students of the IFF of the HMTMH.

The concerts on June 14 and 15 will take place outdoors. Feel free to bring your picnic bag and a seat (blanket, folding chair, ...) to celebrate the summer with us in a relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday June 14, 2025, 8 pm - "Rite to Rhythm" evening concert

Stravinsky's "Sacre du Printemps" for piano four hands. Stravinsky's score contains many elements that were new for the time, including experiments with tonality, meter, rhythm, emphasis and dissonance. The work, considered one of the first of the modern era, influenced many of the leading composers of the 20th century and is one of the most frequently performed works in the classical repertoire. Johannes Nies will be supported in this magnificent work by Markus Becker (former Flex teacher and mentor).

Markus Becker will then transform the stage into an open-air jazz club with jazz standards and improvisations from his jazz albums "Freistil", "Alleingang" and "Regarding Beethoven".
