Paul Lytton has been an internationally renowned figure in the field of free improvisation since the 1960s. He has played with Derek Bailey, Paul Rutherford, Barry Guy, Evan Parker and many others. Over the years he has constantly expanded his drumming with an electronic/electroacoustic setup. At the concert in Cologne, however, he will probably play a completely acoustic solo set - it will be interesting to see what soundscapes he will bring to the stage. This will be followed by a first musical encounter with the old record master Claus van Bebber, whose free improvisational approach to prepared record carriers and record players is also absolutely masterful in conjuring up surprisingly diverse soundscapes, bruitistic musical collages or beguilingly strange, sonic textures.

Dennis aycicek, who hails from the Ruhr area, will kick off the concert evening with a dynamic solo set between noise, broken rhythms and chaotic textures; soundscapes with unexpected breaks, extreme compression and disintegrating fragmentation.
