Reisefotografie-Workshop

In the organizer's words:

Your travel photos don't do justice to what you experienced? The moment you pressed the shutter button was perfect, but the photo you brought home is not? Then come to Thomas Schenker's travel photography workshop! Invest in your photography knowledge instead of expensive equipment - because you as a photographer take the pictures, not your camera!

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced photographer, whether you use a cell phone or an expensive SLR camera, after this workshop you will know how to take the travel photos you have always dreamed of and finally bring home pictures from your adventures that will amaze you and others - without having to know the thousands of functions of your camera in detail.

What awaits you in the travel photography workshop:

  • Valuable quick tips to take better travel photos right away, even without having to know any camera technology at all
  • Tricks on how to capture spectacular shots of good subjects when traveling: Shots with that certain something that captivate everyone and should not be missing from any trip
  • How to take good pictures, whatever the time of day and whatever the weather - by being in the right place with the right light
  • Tips for taking unforgettable vacation pictures of yourself and your fellow travelers
  • How to lose the fear of photographing locals: taking meaningful snapshots and portraits - without making anyone feel uncomfortable
  • The entire workflow of travel photography: planning before the trip, taking and backing up photos on the go, selecting and editing images
  • All content is also discussed specifically for cell phones
  • We'll find the right camera mode for you and you'll receive step-by-step instructions on how to make creative decisions for your pictures
  • Direct support if you have questions in a specific photography situation
  • Other photography enthusiasts in a small group for great learning success as well as a great atmosphere and learning atmosphere with plenty of time for the individual participant
  • The workshop script as a download and access to the very popular travel photography WhatsApp group exclusively for workshop participants from previous years

Your learning success does not end with the workshop, because you can access your documents again and again. And if you want, you can also join the WhatsApp group and ask questions, for example if you need help shortly before your trip or directly on location, or you can post pictures and get feedback. All of this in a constructive and appreciative way that is not usually found in public groups and forums on the internet.

We start the workshop in the Globetrotter store, where you will learn in two hours of theory in the Clubhütte in a clear and compact way how to take spectacular travel photos quickly and easily and which camera mode is right for you to take your photos to the next level and thus take more creative pictures.
In the three-hour practical part that follows, we will then grab our cameras and apply what we have learned on a photo tour through the city - with tips directly on location and feedback on the photos taken.

The workshop will take place whatever the weather. In case of rain, please bring an umbrella and appropriate clothing.
Due to the great interest shown by participants last year, we have extended the practical part from two to three hours this year, making the workshop five hours in total. There will be a short break between the theory and practical parts. If three hours of photography is too long for you, you are welcome to let us know at the beginning of the workshop and then shorten the practical part to any length and leave earlier.

About Thomas

Thomas quickly bought a small compact camera for his first trip straight after leaving school. It didn't survive the trip, but his passion for travel photography was born.
In order to capture his adventures and life in other countries in meaningful photos, he taught himself all aspects of travel photography. He knows the challenges of taking good pictures while traveling and now shares his knowledge in popular, hands-on photography workshops. His teaching background has enabled him to design workshops that help participants learn quickly.

Thomas still loves to travel the world and immerse himself in foreign cultures. He also talks about his adventures in exciting live presentations at the Globetrotter Clubhütte. He is currently traveling the Atlantic coast with his family of four in a self-built campervan.
