On May 24th we celebrate the release of our second album GRAVITY UNMAPPED at Zollkantine - together with our friends from UTOPIA UNION we celebrate almost 14 years of band history with new and old songs.

HYPERTONUS
In medicine, an increase in tissue tension beyond the physiological norm is called hypertonus - in music, the name Hypertonus stands for a band that blurs genre boundaries in their sound beyond the norm.
Hypertonus is an instrumental rock band from Bremen that has been creating high-energy soundscapes since 2011. Often quickly relegated to post-rock like so many instrumental bands, the trio's music is clearly rooted in the ideas of 70s progressive rock, from which they develop their own path between a dry funk sound and echoing space rock of modern times.
Following an EP released in 2013, the debut album "Tidal Wave" was released in 2017, which was followed by joint concerts with bands such as Toundra, 1000Mods, The Hirsch Effekt and Mother's Cake. On October 18, 2024, the new album "Gravity Unmapped" will be released as a digital version.

UTOPIA UNION
Utopia Union are Hanno Janssen, Matthias Dabrowski and Johnny Röhl from the northwest of Germany. Their music is a mixture of atmospheric and repetitive soundscapes inspired by 70s krautrock and modern post-rock. The driving force behind the project is the vision of a utopian, alternative reality - only by imagining a different world can we begin to perceive it differently and live differently.
