Repairing instead of throwing away
This is the motto of the Repair Café!

The new Repair Café at Mobilé was launched at the beginning of October. Since then, the growing crew of volunteers has been on hand to help and advise visitors. The café opens with its own treats for waiting times and chats.

Repair Cafés are events where broken everyday items are repaired together in a pleasant atmosphere. Electrical and mechanical household appliances, consumer electronics, but also textiles, bicycles, toys and other items. Repair Cafés are non-commercial meetings whose aim is to extend the useful life of consumer goods and thus avoid waste, save resources and try out sustainable lifestyles in practice. Interested people and tinkerers can exchange experiences and have a good time together. That's why coffee and cake are just as important a part of the Repair Café as screwdrivers and soldering irons.

Each time, some repairs were successfully carried out, while the addresses of professional repair facilities in Brand or Aachen were passed on for other problems.

Other guests spontaneously declared their willingness to join us on these afternoons. As a result, the number of active volunteers has steadily increased to 14.
