Let's talk about respect!
We need a lasting change in the way patients are treated in the healthcare sector. Because in surgeries and clinics, people experience racism, queerophobia, rejectionism and paternalism, to name just a few isms. This must stop. We refuse to accept this any longer. To do this, we need the collective strength of patients, doctors and therapists. Because only together can we stand up for holistic change in the healthcare system.

From 6.00 pm (admission from 5.30 pm) on 26.09.2024 in the Kulturbunker in Cologne-Mülheim, we will talk together about our experiences, needs and demands that we have for the healthcare system.

There will be two panels with different topics and different guests.

Panel 1: Paternalism, self-diagnosis and stigmatization of mental health problems

Panelists: Stephanie Cuff-Schöttle (psychologist), Olivier David (author, journalist, columnist), Fatima Remli (author, human rights activist)

Panel 2: Empowerment of children and adolescents on the way to self-determined healthcare

Panelists: Oyindamola Alashe (author, journalist), Mareice Kaiser (author, journalist), Thomas Spies (lecturer, teacher)

Moderation: Sara Grzybek (author, founder of Queermed)

The event is open to anyone interested in the topics and is intended to be low-threshold.

There will also be a book table.

Please note: The event will be held in German spoken language. There will also be sign language interpretation in DGS.
