Resavoir - that's modern soul jazz with relaxed beats, fusion jazz and alternative hip-hop, interwoven with electronic textures and together more than the sum of its parts. Why is that? Resavoir is a collaborative project led by Chicago-born producer Will Miller. The classically trained trumpeter and composer is a member of the indie band Whitney and has worked with Mac Miller, Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky and SZA, among others. Inspired by indie rock and hip-hop, he has infused the resulting hybrids with his own sensibility and developed a distinctive, beat-oriented, lush and cinematic soul-jazz sound.

With Resavoir, Miller steps into the role of bandleader, gathering a dozen instrumentalists from Chicago's jazz and improv scene for the recording of each of the two albums "Resavoir I" and "Resavoir II". Miller runs his trumpet through MIDI keyboards and experiments with samplers, drum machines and synthesizers, developing a sound that allows him to collaborate seamlessly.

The music is largely instrumental, carried by pop appeal and melodies that are so catchy you feel like they've always been around you, yet complex, balanced and never cerebral. Subtly radiant symphonies that can give us back the belief that the world is somehow all right after all.
