Resonant Spaces

Group exhibition at Kunstraum Potsdamer Straße

Spaces are disappearing - cultural spaces, spaces of exchange, safe spaces or living spaces. At the same time, new spaces are created: they are fought for, designed, appropriated and transformed. As part of "Resonant Spaces", ten artists explore the dynamics of displacement and appropriation.

Among other things, the positions deal with the disappearance of physical places and the associated memories. Some examine capitalist mechanisms and state repression. Others analyze how gender and sexuality shape social spaces and who has access to them. Last but not least, solidary, communal counter-designs emerge.

The artistic works draw on a broad spectrum of media forms of expression - from large-scale installations to painting, performance, photography and film.

On Friday at 8 pm and Saturday at 5 pm there will be an artistic performance by Alexey Khokhanov. On Saturday at 7 pm there will be a musical performance by Dune.

Spaces are disappearing - cultural spaces, spaces of exchange, safer spaces and living spaces. At the same time, new spaces are being created: they are being fought for, shaped, appropriated and transformed. As part of 'Resonant Spaces', ten artists explore the dynamics of displacement and appropriation.

The positions deal, among other things, with the disappearance of physical places and the memories associated with them. Some examine capitalist mechanisms and state repression. Others analyze how gender and sexuality shape social spaces and who has access to them. Last but not least, solidary and community-based alternatives are being developed.
