Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten

Rico describes himself as "deeply gifted", i.e. he can think just as much as others, but it takes him a little longer, and sometimes things just fall out of his head. Nevertheless, he eagerly looks up difficult adult words in the dictionary and, if necessary, makes up new words, such as the term "deep shadow". Rico uses this term to describe the sinister dark figures that he observes from his nursery in the house opposite. His new best friend Oskar is not happy about this. He is highly gifted, but so scared that he always walks around with a crash helmet on his head - you never know... When Oskar disappears one day, Rico has to pull all his thoughts together to save his friend...
Steinhöfel's children's thriller "Rico, Oskar and the Deep Shadows" was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize in 2009 and has long since become a modern classic. The fast-paced story about the friendship between the unlikely boys is equally popular as a novel, movie and on stage.
