Music is in Rita Payés' blood: growing up in a family of musicians, she quickly developed into an outstanding singer and instrumentalist. Whether singing or playing the trombone, Rita Payés knows how to cast a spell over her listeners. Her songs are beguilingly beautiful, hinting at a touch of melancholy one moment and bursting with energy the next. She is not limited by genres or languages: Spanish meets Portuguese or English, while jazz, bossa nova and influences from Latin American music mingle. Her unique sound ensures that she not only performs with numerous big bands such as the Scott Robinsons Big Band or the WDR Big Band, but also that at the age of 25 she can already look back on numerous published songs and albums.
