Rochdale Festival: Electronic Music, Street Art und Familienfreundlichkeit im Freiraum Rochdale

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, Freiraum Rochdale (Oldentruper Str. 65, 33604 Bielefeld) will be transformed into a vibrant meeting place for art, culture, sports and music enthusiasts. The Rochdale Festival, initiated by Teutopia e.V., Leises Rauschen and Karoline Keeling (Marla), invites you to a diverse open-air experience for the whole family from 14:00 to 22:00.

The festival aims to create a lively and diverse event for Bielefeld and the surrounding neighborhood. It uniquely combines electronic music, urban art and a wide range of activities for families in order to promote cultural exchange and provide a platform for local initiatives, artists and creatives.

Creative development and urban art:

From 14:00, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of graffiti and urban art in various street art workshops led by renowned artists such as Mirea (Hanover), Späm (Hamburg), Kirschenfrau (Essen) and Marla. Registration for the workshops at www.marlastreetart.de is required. At the same time, Silvia from Hoch2 (Bielefeld) and Marla will be designing a large mural wall, while the CO3 crew from Hamburg and the Ruhr region will be creating a professional graffiti wall design at the gym. Pascal Schulte-Zweckel, a street artist from Witten, will be painting large organic neurographic images in 3D using chalk. A guided street art walk through Bielefeld from the Hall of Fame, Mindener Straße with Sven Niemann aka Dj Cut Spencer is also planned at 2 pm. Registration for the workshops and the guided tour is required at www.marlastreetart.de.

The evening before, Friday, May 9, the female graffiti documentary "Girl Power" will be shown at Offkino Bielefeld from 8 p.m. to get people in the mood for the festival.

Electronic sounds on two stages:

From 14:00, Teutopia e.V. and Leises Rauschen will be providing the festival site with a varied program of electronic music on two stages. From relaxed beats in the afternoon to driving rhythms in the evening, there is something for everyone.

Fun, games and sport for the whole family:

A special focus is placed on the family-friendliness of the Rochdale Festival. The Jakobus YMCA will be on site from 14:00 to 18:00 with an action mobile including a tractor and trailer as well as a large bouncy castle and offers a colorful children's program. Sports enthusiasts can let off steam on two basketball courts, which will be supervised by TSVE 1890 Bielefeld e.V. Open play and supervised games will take place here from 14:00 to 17:30.

Culinary variety from Pöhlker's Bistro & Catering:

Pöhlker's Bistro & C atering will take care of your physical well-being with a diverse range of dishes that will delight lovers of classic dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The menu includes bratwurst, currywurst, chips, burgers, a delicious vegetable pan with various dips and chicken. Leises Rauschen & Teutopia e.V. will be running a large drinks stand.
