In April/May 2025, we have an EU tour with two of the Habibi Funk label's most popular artists, Rogér Fakhr and Charif Mergarbane. Both hailing from Beirut, Charif and Rogér represent two generations of artists driving Lebanese music culture, with Rogér starting his career in the late 70s and Charif taking the helm in recent years. Rogér has developed an incredibly strong cult following. His lost tapes, recorded in Beirut in the 1970s (and later in Paris when he had to flee the civil war), were finally released by Habibi Funk on the LP 'Fine Anyway' in 2021, followed by a second album 'East of Any Place' in 2023.No one could have guessed how much this would appeal to modern audiences-on Spotify alone, 'Fine Anyway' has reached 25 million streams to date, while Rogér currently has 250,000 monthly listeners. Rogér is now in the studio recording new material for a 2025/26 release. Charif is a true jack-of-all-trades producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist who is prolific with his output (80 albums in 10 years!). His album "Marzipan" was released in 2023 on Habibi Funk and was highly praised by critics, including Bandcamp Album of the Day, as well as Time and The Skinny. Charif will release a new follow-up album via Habibi Funk in spring 2025. While Charif has been touring since the release of Marzipan with sold out shows at the Jazz Cafe in London, Hosoi in Stockholm and Le Bellevilloise in Paris(WATCH), Rogér hadn't performed in public for decades - until he took to the stage at the sold out EartH in London in October 2024 - a truly special and emotional evening where Charif played both his own set and acted as backing band for Rogér's set. To Rogér's humble surprise, he witnessed his songs, written in complete discretion more than four decades ago, now being sung along to by a modern audience of all ages and backgrounds. We now have the special opportunity to repeat the setup of the London show from October 2024, with Charif and Rogér performing together for the first time in selected cities in Europe.
