Romanischer Sommer 2025 - Sound of Giddy

In the organizer's words:

A Wednesday evening of special sound experiences: gamut inc (Marion Wörle and Maciej Sledziecki) are developing a new sound art composition for computer-controlled (pipe) organ for the organ at the Kunst-Station Sankt Peter, which is specially designed and equipped for the presentation of contemporary music. The compositions by gamut inc can be seen as a further development of Conlon Nancarrow's Studies for Player Piano, a selection of which will be played on an original instrument with original music rolls owned by Nancarrow specialist Jürgen Hocker. In contrast to the music of utopian complexity of the music machines (player piano and organ), two string quartets by Terry Riley and Michael Veltman (world premiere) will be performed by the string ensemble Tra i Tempi - music of silence, longing and fragility.
