In Enrique Gasa Valga's new dance piece, Romy's extraordinary artistic career and her inner struggle merge into a captivating production. The path from her early career as a "sweet Viennese girl" and Sissi actress - "a curse and a blessing at the same time", as she said - to becoming a celebrated icon of French cinema was marked by highs and lows. Pushed into this role as a young girl by her mother and stepfather "Daddy" for financial reasons, Romy's rocky road began. But through her encounter with Alain Delon during the filming of Christine in 1958, she began to emancipate herself both personally and as an actress and to create a new identity.
