Roommates

(LA) hoRDE Ballet de Marseille

"We came up with this program to tell, together with others, a story that resembles us and to celebrate the multiple signatures of choreographers who trained our gaze, gave us our first emotions and still accompany us today. We feel it is more important than ever to honor them with this project." - (LA)HORDE

Some of the pieces in the Roommates program have had a decisive influence on the history of the Ballet national de Marseille, such as Les Indomptés by Claude Brumachon, which was restaged by Marie-Claude Pietragalla for the Opéra de Marseille in 1999, Concerto by Lucinda Childs or Room With A View by (LA) HORDE.

They will be shown on this evening together with three world premieres: Weather is Sweet by (LA)HORDE, Oiwa by Peeping Tom, inspired by a Japanese legend of the same name, and Grime Ballet (Danser parce qu'on ne peut parler aux animaux) by Cecilia Bengolea and François Chaignaud, which draws its energy from the intensity of the musical repertoire of grime.
