As part of the finissage of the exhibition We Are Full of Winds and Sea and Solar Threads by Catalan artist Rosa Tharrats, a performance will take place after the curator's tour from 4 pm.
The rooms of the Kunsthalle Münster form the stage for Tharrats' immersive installation Vestir el viento (2025), which means "to dress the wind". Her play with the elements invites us to rethink our own relationship to the world and to recognize the inherent value of each element.
The basic outline of the installation was created during Tharrat's voyage on an expedition ship to the South Sandwich Islands. In contact with nature, in collaboration with the wind, a large part of the flags that are stretched out in the Kunsthalle or hang limply from the ceiling were developed, surrendering to gravity. During the expedition, it was the wind that set the textile sculptures in motion. As part of the finissage, the installation will be activated through collective exercises by several performers. The fabric created will be actively set in motion and animated by sounds and breathing exercises borrowed from yoga.
