MaveriX are a trio from the south of Milan. Founded in 2022 by the three members Drago, Nix and Teo, the three are driven by their love of country music and punk rock: two styles that they grew up with, that have shaped them as musicians and that couldn't be more different. With great passion, the trio combines the two styles into a new direction: COW-PUNK.
Live, the result is a raw, energetic sound that combines the heaviness of Green Day and Social Distortion with the groove of Creedence Clearwater Revival and the edge of country artists like Johnny Cash.
In 2023, they released their first album COWPUNK! via Rocketman Records, which received excellent reviews in specialized webzines and fanzines.
Ox_Fanzine writes: "Twang, country, punk and rockabilly blend into a great mix that could easily pass as the soundtrack to a western. The opener "8.6" alone hits you like a swinging door in a saloon and catapults you straight into the dusty desert of Santa Fe. The clear voice of singer and guitarist Niccolò, who obviously got a taste of the prairie air during his many years in Alberta, Canada, sounds particularly beautiful and his inspirations are processed here. Speaking of grinning: Anyone who reinterprets "Bro hymn" by PENNYWISE as "Spaghetti hymn" is already a big hit with me. So imagine LANGHORNS, JANCEE PORNICK CASINO and NICK13 meeting up for a whiskey. Sounds good? Then put on your Stetson and go for it, yee-haw!"
