"Perhaps we should thank Jack White for bringing the spirit of blues rock into the present age over the last 15 years, transmitting the meaning of one of rock music's oldest genres. White has paved the way for bands like The Kills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Deap Vally. All of them fronted by charismatic women, celebrating the mix of garage, blues, fuzz rock and riot grrrl punk. An area where an exciting new band has recently parked their rusty van: Velvet Two Stripes.

Finally a European band ready to compete with the big boys of the scene, challenging the guys in their garage and proving that young women do have a feel for real blues."
