A Berlin DJ takes you on tour - and on a journey through highs, crashes and new beginnings. DJs Are Dead begins promisingly at the end of the 90s, at the relevant nightlife venues, and ends unerringly in a midlife crisis. Suddenly, a virus brings everything to a standstill. But an unfair offer awakens his killer instinct. He prepares to make his way to the top again, while death is rampant all around him. And that's supposed to be funny? Yes, I suppose it is.
Ruede Hagelstein, born in Brandenburg in 1979, moved to Berlin at the end of the 90s, worked as a nightlife editor and immersed himself in the club scene. He organized parties, co-founded the underground forum Restrealitaet.de and played as a DJ in the city's most important clubs. He was a resident at the Watergate Club for ten years and performed on stages on every continent. Today he concentrates on his Berlin recording studio and his media agency duatagency.de. With DJs Are Dead, he now presents his literary debut - pointed, absurdly funny and ruthlessly honest. "The novel was written so that I could read it out myself," says the author himself.
