In the organizer's words:

Munich childhood memories of the post-war years

After three years of intensive work, with a great deal of idealism, the support of film professionals, numerous donors and contemporary witnesses, Michael von Ferrari, Angelika Wimbauer and Lutz Eigel (muenchen-zeitreisen.de) have realized an extraordinary non-profit film. A portrait of the post-war generation and this important era of the city with a mixture of interview sequences, photos and original film clips from 1945 to 1958.

28 women and men, mostly real Münchner Kindl, talk about their childhood and youth, about survival, deprivation and beatings, about strict rules at home and the great freedom outside. Of schools without paper. Of the "Schiebewurst" and the first chocolate.

More than 60 hours of interviews were used to create a one-hour documentary that impressively reflects the attitude to life of the children and young people of that time - a city in ruins.
Dramaturgy and editing: Ursula Ambach; actor Udo Wachtveitl (Tatort commissioner Franz Leitmayr) links the interview sequences as narrator.

Report on the film in the ARD Mediathek
