"The other half of Olympus" - women, power and myth
Sounds of identity: myth and music
At the end of the season, the RundfunkchorLounge dives into the sonic and cultural dimensions of gender. Questions of gender and identity are by no means new. Even in antiquity, they were dealt with in a variety of ways. For example, in Greek mythology, where astonishingly diverse identities can be found beyond binary attributions.
What sounds are created when we break down the boundaries of gender? And what does music tell us about role models, identities and social attributions? In this program, old myths meet contemporary perspectives - in conversation as well as in music.
The last RundfunkchorLounge of the season welcomes you with exciting perspectives and musical contrasts, in the usual relaxed atmosphere of Heimathafen Neukölln. The Rundfunkchor Berlin will perform the evening under the direction of Gijs Leenaars. It will be accompanied by expert discussions that will shed light on current and historical topics and place the musical program in a social context.
