From Thursday to Sunday, the film program at Rundgang 2025 will present a total of 44 films by students of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) that have been made over the last twelve months as part of their studies. Feature films, documentaries, animations, experimental films and hybrid forms of cinematic storytelling will be shown in 13 program blocks in the auditorium of the KHM and in the Filmforum at Museum Ludwig.

AnimaDok by Lenia Friedrich (director and writer)
So ist das Leben und nicht anders. is a hypnotic exploration of the spaces inhabited and lost by Mrs. Miko over the course of her long, almost century-long life. Her housing-like memory structures have overlapped with those of Lenia Friedrich, who dreamily contemplates her own aging process inside the house they share. (Text: Aiden Vetter)

Marina Sokova is 19 years old and has been a competitive swimmer since childhood. When her friend Jana unexpectedly tells her that she is going to stop swimming, Marina loses an important source of support. Alone with her high expectations of herself, she seems unable to leave the water at all. After weeks of hard training, Marina manages to qualify for the German championships. When she jumps into the pool after the starting shot for the decisive race, the water makes her feel light, almost weightless.

A house in the countryside, flowers blooming, birds chirping and the wind whispering softly through the hedges. Ramona has been dreaming this dream of greater or lesser happiness all her life. But a sad journey stands between Ramona and her dream. Her mother-in-law has to go to the sea, under the warm sand of a Dutch North Sea beach. That was her last wish and that's what her son Sören-Santiago wants: to go to the sea with her mother once again.

Der Kölsche Wisch is a short screwball comedy about the artist-curator couple Mimi and Paul, who return to their messy, far too small apartment when the most promising young gallery owner from the Rhineland suddenly calls and invites himself to their home.
After the screening, the directors, authors and image designers present will talk about the process of making their films and introduce their film teams in a discussion with the audience.
