The film program at the KHM Rundgang (3 to 7 July) presents a total of 38 current films by students of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in ten programs in the auditorium and in the Filmforum in the Museum Ludwig. These are feature films and documentaries, animations, music videos and experimental films of various lengths. They will be shown in ten mixed program blocks in the auditorium of the KHM and in the Filmforum in the Museum Ludwig. The filmmakers will be present and will give an insight into the conception and realization of their films after the screening.
Targeted Medieval Reflections, 2024, 25 min.

A teacher who skips class. A boy who can't lie. And a stray bear.
After Mrs. Schröder shouts at the pupil Benny on a school trip, she stops going to class. Mrs. Schröder lives for the day. When she hears a rumor about an escaped bear, she decides to get to the bottom of it. Between a rendezvous with Benny's father and a jumping poodle, Mrs. Schröder wanders through the empty small town. Before she knows it, she is playing cat and mouse with the stray bear.
The Newt Congress, 2022, 16 min., feature film by Immanuel Esser (KHM) and Matthias Sahli (ZHdK)
The newly discovered, talking giant salamanders have been exploited by humans for years as menial labor and laboratory animals. The newt congress is taking place on a conference site surrounded by nature, where congress participants have come together to discuss the utilization of the animals.

LA TRIBU, 2023, 37 min.
Documentary film by Marja Suna Vormann
For 35 years, LA TRIBU, an autonomous collective and community radio station in Buenos Aires, has been broadcasting voices of resistance on the 88.7 frequency. The protagonists share their stories and talk about the beginnings of the radio station in 1988, five years after the end of the last military dictatorship. Like LA TRIBU, the film moves between inside and outside - between studio and street - in an attempt to connect present and past lines.
After the screening of the individual films, Prof. Franz Müller will lead a discussion with the filmmakers and teams present.
