The popular popular song "Cycle like the wind through the Grunewald forest and then we'll soon be at Wannsee" has solidified Berliners' longing for their green landscapes into a standard image. Especially along the main road Heerstraße in the direction of Stößensee, one finds what has always been a highly aesthetic claim to a pleasant life in the countryside only for the wealthy: Modern residential buildings worthy of preservation as spectacular detached houses. But there is also an avant-garde large-scale quarter in Le Corbusier's social housing program, all embedded in the charm of the Mark Brandenburg landscape.
