They have succeeded in continuing Nordic jazz in the tradition of the legendary trio e.s.t: Rymden. The trio of Bugge Wesseltoft (formerly New Conception Of Jazz) and Magnus Öström and Dan Berglund, the former rhythm section of e.s.t., has developed into a true Scandinavian supergroup since its formation in 2019.
The musical worlds of their acoustic-electronic compositions offer both driving rhythms and melancholic, spherical ambient sounds. On their latest studio album "Valleys & Mountains", the trio celebrates their love of fusion jazz, prog rock, pop, club sounds and classical music. If surprising time changes, thunderous bass lines and shimmering synthesizer pads are already running so smoothly in the studio, Rymden is likely to conjure up even more new ideas and improvisations on stage.
In fact, Rymden fill rock clubs as well as classical concert halls - and inspire.
