FLUID DYNAMICS FESTIVAL - real-time composition in public space

Long-term performance on the theme of "water" by Instant PIG // Stuttgart

On the long weekend of May 29 and 30, the improvisation platform SAAL FREI invites you to a very special real-time composition festival in public space. For the first time, the festival entitled "Fluid Dynamics" will take place outdoors and is dedicated to the vital element of water - as the source of life, cultural symbol and challenge of our time.

The highlight of the festival is a four-hour performance on Fri, May 30 from 4 to 8 pm on the market square at Stuttgart City Hall. Artists from various disciplines will interpret water in creative, playful and thought-provoking ways. The performance will inspire viewers to reflect on their use of water in particular and natural resources in general. They follow the live artistic debate, which poses the question of how we as a social collective want to deal with the current climate challenges.

The event is open to everyone and offers the opportunity to experience water in its many forms haptically, visually and acoustically.

Important note: The event was announced in a previous communication for Sat 31.05. Due to a clash of dates with another major event on the market square, the performance had to be postponed to Fri 30.05 4-8pm. Probably no other element has inspired artists from different genres and eras to create such diverse works of art as water. It is life-giving and at the same time a force of nature with immense destructive power.

Words, images and sounds describe the fluidly changing qualities of water between stillness and movement, and we can approach this precious resource through the body in dance actions as diverse as its manifestations.

When improvising, we also enjoy fluid changes in various partner and group constellations and move in an inner attitude that is ready to change and absorb new things.

The workshop is open to people of all generations and different levels of previous experience. The most important thing to bring: curiosity and a love of movement.
