The opera singer Sabine Paßow - alias Eni Hilgrid - commuted regularly from West to East Berlin, as she had a guest performance contract at the Komische Oper Berlin. Sabine Paßow takes you back to this time. Enjoy an evening of humorous, bizarre and also thought-provoking experiences.

Sabine Paßow was born in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1960. After graduating from high school, she studied singing at the Hanover University of Music and Drama. During her first engagement at the Oldenburg State Opera, she was offered a guest contract at the Komische Oper in Berlin in 1987. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, she became a permanent member of the ensemble there. Her experiences at the Komische Oper have shaped her entire professional career.

Sabine Paßow has been working as a freelancer at various opera houses in Germany and abroad since 2000. Her professional focus is now on coaching aspiring singers. Ms. Paßow is particularly passionate about conducting an integrative orchestra on a voluntary basis - and has been doing so for over 25 years.
