Joseph and Sonya are bound by a close friendship and their young son Pino, whom they are raising together. While director Joseph is working on a new movie idea and the break-up with his ex-boyfriend Marc, Sonya is suffering from depression, which is increasingly tearing her out of her life. When she is admitted to a clinic, Joseph not only has to juggle his everyday family life, but also his artistic ambitions.

In his second feature film, writer and director Fabian Stumm mixes a wide range of emotional tones to create a tragicomic reflection on reality. He was celebrated by audiences and the press at the Munich Film Festival and won two awards for his work. Sad
Jokes is absurd and banal, hopeful and touching or - as in real life - everything at once.

Flingern-Lichtspiele

The summer open-air movie theater in Flingern. Every Thursday and Saturday in August, we show a total of eight films on the terrace behind the building. The projections start after dark, admission is from 21:00. Folding chairs and deckchairs are available and there is a bar. If it rains, we will show the films indoors. Free admission - donations are welcome.
