Sammy Rae & The Friends feel like family - at least the family we've all always wanted. The collective of dreamers and artists have lived by the motto "one for all, all for one" since day one, enchanting their audience with immersive stage shows that create a deep sense of connection. Many years of touring together have ensured that the band around Sammy Rae can unfold their mixture of virtuosity, energy and humor in rooms of all kinds. The band's sound blends the influences that have shaped Sammy Rae since the beginning of her career as a musician: classic rock, folk, funk and a few pinches of soul and jazz. The musician, who played her first concert at the age of 15, moved from Connecticut to New York when she was 19. Suddenly on her own in the big city, she built her life in harmony with her musical developments and found community in performances and joint music projects. She completed a six-month residency at the Cotton Club jazz lounge in Harlem, played shows at bars and open mics, and eventually met the six musicians who would become her band - and her family. Her EP The Good Life from 2018 and Let's throw a party from 2018 quickly earned her a loyal fan base, followed by sold-out shows in large halls and underground venues as well as gigs at major festivals around the globe. On September 20, the long-awaited album Something for Everybody was finally released, bringing the unique and virtuoso lightness of Sammy Rae's voice to the fore and delighting fans worldwide.
