A human-sized puppet moves amidst four dancers in a complex system of strings and pulleys - a sophisticated, absurd power structure in which the boundaries between freedom and manipulation dissolve.
In SABOTAGE, choreographer Sara Angius and director Johanna Ehlert explore the human struggle for autonomy and control in a world that makes us believe more than ever that we are self-determined. How much of our free will is real? Who is pulling the strings, who is being controlled? At a time when algorithms control our actions, fake news distorts our view of the world and we take refuge in illusory digital worlds, SABOTAGE takes an indulgent, humorous and dramatic look at the mechanisms of manipulation.
Completely without words, but with virtuoso movement, an astonishing metaphor about dependency and self-determination is created. Reality and fiction merge in an unprecedented combination of dance and puppet theater.
