Satoko Fujii Tokyo Trio: Moon on the Lake

The piano trio of pianist and composer Satoko Fujii comes to us directly from the famous Tokyo jazz club Pit Inn. They are joined by two of the most sought-after young musicians on the Japanese jazz scene, bassist Takashi Sugawa and drummer Ittetsu Takemura. Together, they have formed a smooth and quick-witted band since 2019, capable of incredible speed and power as well as subtle lines and tone colors. All of this comes to full fruition on their latest album "Moon on the Lake".

Critics and fans praise Sakoto Fujii as one of the most original voices in contemporary jazz, who has demonstrated her skills on more than 100(!) albums. She combines jazz with contemporary classical music, avant-garde rock and folk elements to create her very own style. For her 60th birthday, she released an album every month for a year, each time with a different line-up.
