Sax Royal: Wir machen uns frei!

For the 15th time, the Dresden reading stage Sax Royal is making a guest appearance at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum. The literary team can usually be seen at the Groove Station in Dresden's Neustadt district, where they delight their fans with new stories, poems and songs every month.

For this special occasion at the Hygiene Museum, regulars Michael Bittner, Roman Israel, Max Rademann and Gesine Schäfer will be presenting a literary program entitled "Wir machen uns frei" (We set ourselves free) to coincide with the current special exhibition "Freiheit. An unfinished story". They talk about their very personal battles with authority and their own inhibitions, satirically attack the new enemies of open society and paint small utopias beyond the constraints of everyday life - as always at Sax Royal with wit, esprit and linguistic subtlety.

This summer's guest author is Susanne M. Riedel, whose humorous short stories range from feminism and fairy dust to parties and package inserts, the climate crisis and menopause.
