Film Festival Schattentheater – Orchester im Treppenhaus

In the organizer's words:

For its first Shadow Theater Film Festival, the Orchester im Treppenhaus will be performing shadow theater films - created by school classes from all over Hanover - in the large cinema hall of the Kino im Künstlerhaus from 27-30.03.2025.

Creative together: The project work in the schools was accompanied by theater educator Finja Schlake and rounded off with a joint rehearsal day with musicians from the orchestra.

As part of the festival, the pupils involved can experience their work on the big screen in the municipal cinema, while musicians from the orchestra play live in the stairwell. In addition to the morning school events, there will also be a public event on 30.03.25 with selected festival contributions.

With Lotte Reiniger, a pioneer of shadow theater film will also find her place in the festival screenings: In addition to the schoolchildren's works, one of her delicate silhouette films will be shown and accompanied live by the orchestra with film music by Jan Wilke.
