This summer, Schaubühne Lindenfels once again invites you to enjoy its outstanding film program in a relaxed atmosphere in the open air. Great cinema on the big screen, directly in front of the Plagwitz market hall. The café there offers a selection of drinks and snacks - regionally produced and ecologically certified. To kick off this year's summer cinema, the Schaubühne Lindenfels and
Egenberger Lebensmittel are first inviting you to an action week for food culture from May 29 - June 12, 2024 under the motto "In
Food We Trust" in the Plagwitz market hall in the west of Leipzig.

HIGHLIGHT AT THE OPENING: CONCERT by the ROTE-BEETE CHOIR
Before our first summer cinema screening this year, the choir, which was founded by members of the Rote Beete eG vegetable cooperative (SoLaWi), will be performing their skills. SoLaWi produces fruit and vegetables in Sehlis, a district of Taucha to the north-east of Leipzig. Self-organization and co-determination have been important principles at Rote Beete for 12 years now. The choir was founded on the initiative of a few members and gathers more than 30 singers around the choirmaster Paola Kling. The repertoire consists mainly of songs from the labor, feminist and resistance movements against fascism.

"Sharing the harvest - farming differently for the future"
The documentary tells the story of farmers who are countering the growth compulsion of our system and breaking out of the structures of conventional agriculture. Filmmaker and activist Philipp Petruch takes the film on a journey to three SoLaWi initiatives in Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. They are united by a clear goal: with the help of communities, they are creating a local supply cycle based on the values of ecology and the common good. With courage, a sense of community and a new relationship between consumer and producer, we can change agriculture. And a little bit of the world.
