From the witches' pond to the stake
The Dark Ages and early modern times also left their bloody traces in the free imperial city of Tremonia - the torture sites were located outside the city walls and people were burned, flogged and hanged in front of the West Gate. In cases of high treason, the punishments were carried out on the old market square and onlookers would gather. The first 'witch' in the county of Dortmund was burned in 1581: Anna Coester pleaded guilty to causing the death of a child through sorcery. The executioner will throw her on the water. Will she pass the water test?
Come along and experience 'Master Hermann' at his gruesome craft. If you feel like it, you can apply to be an executioner's servant or take part in the 'judgment of God'!
