In the organizer's words:

"Resistance is futile!"

Free acting & performance workshop

14.04. - 17.04.2025
22.04. - 25.04.2025

The film quote from the series "Star Trek Voyager", which was first broadcast on January 16, 1995, is the subject of the workshop. The spin-off of the Star Trek series is dedicated to the story of the spaceship of the same name and its crew, which drifts into the distant Delta Quadrant of our Milky Way in the 24th century. There, the crew encounters the "Borg", among others. Borg "assimilate" - they capture and annex the bodies, minds and forms of other life forms, entire peoples and planets - "Resistance is futile!"?

The question mark in the title is not accidental: Is resistance really futile? What does it mean today to resist, to protest, to show civil courage and to stand up for one's own rights and the rights of others? In what legal and liberal space can we act today, what was different in the past? The life story and work of Tisa von der Schulenburg provide insights into this, tell of true experiences and provide examples that could hardly be more topical. Tisa was and is resistance.

The Tisa Foundation cordially invites you, your family and friends to an acting and performance workshop on the subject of resistance during the 2025 Easter vacations. Actress Samira Julia Calder and director, theater educator and artist Jens Dornheim will accompany you on this exciting journey of discovery.

Tisa-Archiv serves as an "interaction laboratory" for intergenerational exchange

In our free acting & performance workshop, participants engage intensively and across generations with the topic of resistance. It is aimed at participants aged 15 and over. "We are looking forward to the thematic development over the course of the workshop, when young people meet experienced personalities, possibly important contemporary witnesses, reflect on each other and present together," says Josefine Jordan, Managing Director of the Tisa Foundation.

The workshop is deliberately aimed at both young and older participants, with and without acting experience. The performance will therefore include content from different perspectives, offering a look into the past as well as the future. Personal impressions, memories and discussions on the subject of resistance are used to create content, plot and characters, which are brought together into a scenic collage by means of improvisation, recorded by the management team and given a dramaturgical form. The resulting performance will be presented on 26.04.2025 at 16:00 in a showcase at the Tisa Foundation.

The coaches Samira Julia Calder and Jens Dornheim will guide you through the workshop and will be on hand with help and advice. Samira Julia Calder is an actress and acting coach and has already performed in the staged reading "Mascha & Tisa: Glaube. Love. Art." with the Tisa Foundation. Jens Dornheim is a director, actor and theater teacher. He is also a visual artist and runs the Rabbit Hole in Essen.

There are still places available, registrations will be accepted until 10.04.2025 at kontakt@tisa-stiftung.de - We look forward to seeing you!
